The Battle for Jingzhou Something Interesting......

The Battle for Control of Jingzhou
Jingzhou is the most heavily contested piece of land among the three kingdoms. Much of it fell into Liu Bei's control in the aftermath of the Battle of Chibi as Liu Bei's forces moved swiftly to capture much of this province after Cao Cao's forces were severely crushed at Chibi. However the alliance between Liu Bei and Sun Quan creeps into resentment (East Wu wants Jingzhou as war booty for her contribution in the war efforts at Chibi).

To appease East Wu, Liu Bei returned the three prefectures of Jiangxia, Changsha and Guiyang to Sun Quan. However Sun Quan was not satisfied and thus an alliance with Wei was forged with a joint invasion on Guan Yu controlled Jingzhou. Although the seven armies of Wei from the north were vanquished, Guan Yu and his adopted son Guan Ping lost their lives in the attack by Wu from the east and south.
